I live in shelby and onlyhave a metal shed that they bring on a truck, talk about hot, I took a heavy canvas that was gave to me and put it up to divide it in half, put a little ac unit in the window right in front of where i sit,It works great no matter how hot it gets ,that is as long as you dont stand up, then there is a oven around my head and shoulders, cold air stays on bottom , heat on top, i scoot from one place to the other in my chair, drill with jet lathe, turn with delta, messed up and put delta on a delta stand so i can get in the end better and it is like you say 100 plus by 9am,then it is a little better at 9 pm to do something quick and get out, going to be in the hundreds next 3 days, last year i did a show on liberty day which is this satureday, outside in the street, hot reflection pavement, and canopy, no electricity, said i would not do that again, glad im not doing it this weekend think it said106 for saturday,

I heard Hotlanta is supposed to break it's all time record , It's 103 in the shade on my porch, up north here LOL

Which king of Yankee do you claim to be, Ken? I didn't know Hell had moved that far East. 106 yesterday, 109 today, 100+ for the next 5 days the Weather Man says. Thank God the humidity is low, only 55%.:frown:

I still believe George W. Bush when he said "there ain't no such thing as global warming, it's all a bunch of scientifical hooey" Ohh look at the cute little kitty. Gotta love the W at least he was good for a laugh now and then.
Every one around here thought this one farmer was nuts, he planted 800 acres 3 weeks before any one else, Guess who's the only one with a good corn crop, there's thousands of acres of corn, Soy and Cotton burning up and no possibility of moisture until the end of next week, but triple digits all the way for the next 5 days, Sunday's supposed to be around 106, I'm showing 104 now.
Charles I meant up north of Hotlanta LOL I bow to the King of 10uhsee!! Chet Atkins.
If I were to pass away this evening I'll be sure and take a blanket with me so that when I get to hell, I can keep warm!!

Yes, Ken, most of our corn has been twisted for weeks around here. The few farmers that were quick on the trigger are the only ones locally that might get any return on their seed. Looks like only one hay crop unless the rain gets here PDQ. Nah! ani't no such thing as 'global warming'.

It's just a cycle we're in...
it was hot like this here in Tennessee in 1935..
our local weather guesser said that if it tops the temp predicted this weekend, it will break all records since Knoxville started keeping records... go figger!:biggrin:

It was 107° in Clarksville today. Right now (7:30 PM) it is still 105°. The only good thing is that the humidity is unbelievably low for around here this time of year (21%).

That has been the only blessing for this, the humidity has been low, but it's up today, and supposed to be the hottest day yet. And of course my main AC went down in smoke yesterday, but I have a good window unit in my office.

No AC in my shop either... it's a metal building, but fortunately sits under the shade of a big oak on one side and a big elm on the other... usually about 6-10 degrees cooler inside than out in the sun, plus I have 3 fans I keep blowing my way when in there, so I can work a few hours before the sweat completely soaks through my clothes... might try doing some work at night or early evening myself.

Looks like we're so far south that we avoided the worst of it . It's been hot but nothing out of the norm.

Fortunately, my shop has a small air conditioned office in the back and I can duck in there for a few minutes and cool off.
