I have not turned anything since last summer when I realized breathing the dust was really messing me up. Never bothered me until it did. I have now spent a few months and > $1000 putting together the DC system. It is finally really close to being finished. It's actually usable now. I am looking forward to getting back to turning. Here are a few pics of the progress since November.
Most important is that the noise suppression box really worked. I used ROCKWOOL Safe'n'Sound insulation. It is for sound suppression and is not R rated. I put a vent on the top cover and on the side for cooling the motor. Not sure it really needs it, the motor does not get hot.
The first 2 pics are the removable panel. I will take it off for emptying the barrels.
3rd pic is the front before I put the cover on.
#4, 5 and 6 are side views of layout. If you can see it in pics, the bar across a few inches from the floor is for the french cleats to rest on.
There is a bar close to the top as well.
#7 is the side panel in place.
#8 is the front. It is not finished yet. I made a plywood collar to go around the pipe for strength.
I have since added a tee and the pipe going up and across the ceiling to the belt sanders.
I will post pics of that when it is finished.
