I can't seem to find a link or site that has the 4 jaw mini chuck that I can just throw a square blank on. I have a mini 3 Jaw for rounds, but need a four. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Martin; I know this isn't a 4 jaw chuck but it's what I use all most exclusively for drilling pen blanks.I can't seem to find a link or site that has the 4 jaw mini chuck that I can just throw a square blank on. I have a mini 3 Jaw for rounds, but need a four. Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking at a similar thing and have narrowed it down to the apprentice chuck from CSUSA (http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com) or the Baraccuda 2 from Penn State (www.pennstateind.com).
The Baraccuda is cheaper on Amazon.
Both have the same basic capabilities and get good reviews. The primary difference between them is that the cuda uses tommy bars and the apprentice uses a keyed chuck.

A nice small chuck is the Nova Midi chuck. I have one and have drilled hundreds of blanks with it.

And for $20 more, you could have the TiN coated.
