Hello all:
A couple of days ago I started down the Closed End pen path. So far I have used a simple "Pin Chuck" for turning them; however, I just read a little about the PSI Big Grabber Mandrel. I have one in my shopping cart along with some of the optional accessories, but before I punch up "Check Out" I thought I would ask the IAP community for their comments regarding the Big Grabber.
It sounds like it should work well and should overcome some of the difficulties I've encountered with a Pin Chuck. Namely, the motion of sanding with the grain tends to want to pull the blank off of the chuck. Since the Big Grabber uses a bladder I would assume it grips the tube and holds it both radially for turning as well as laterally for sanding.
Comments please. (especially from those who have one of these).
Regards,
Dave
