A gentleman came into my shop. He has travelled quite a bit of the world and showed me a beautiful and very old gator skin wallet. We got talking about materials cast into pens and he said he would bring in something for me to try.
The next day he brought in 3 snake skins. He said the light one is for sure python, but the other 2 he is not sure of.
He has had them for a quite a few years. When he first got them, they began to dry out, so he rubbed them down with mink oil. They may be from Australia, he spent a number of years there, or else possibly Africa.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are working on a trade. I make him a couple of snakeskin pens and I get to keep the rest.
