I joined IAP a couple of weeks ago and posted here as a newbie.

Since then, I've had some questions but every one of those questions were answered either in previous posts or the files database. I had no need to post my questions.

Great site, well-managed, and truly informative.

Welcome Robert! You probably have read the posts and PDF links that are usually given to new members here. In case you haven't I will include them below:

The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.
http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42446

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. While confusing to new turners, it sure helps abbreviate a lot of repetitive typing.

Make some friends , post questions and photos of work or pens, give observations and suggestions too! Join in on the fun!

Welcome Robert, This is the best site I know of on the net. Not only for penturning information, but most any information. Also it is the best people and community I know of. Hope to see you around and keep asking questions, they save you a ton of headaches and money.

Welcome Robert,

This site is truly a font of information on penturning, but you can also get answers to just about any other question/subject you might have. A great group of folks...

(I had already typed this before I read Daniels post, will post anyway! IT'S TRUE!)

But ... but ...

If you don't ask, how can we heap any abuse on you?

Welcome Robert. If you are able there is a chapter meeting in Richmond every 2nd Thursday of the month at the Richmond Woodcrafters and we do demos at every meeting. You are welcome to come and join us even if you can't make it to every meeting. Its a lot of fun.
