Here are some pieces of Fordite that I cut off a slab of Fordite that I picked up. Makes for super unique pens

Pieces on the left are at least 3" long and at least 3/4" square. $30 each

Pieces on the right are at least 5" long and at least 3/4" square. $60 each.

Plus shipping.

This is tricky material, so turn at your own risk. Cross posted, so shotgun your pieces now!

Thanks,
Derek

This Fordite is miserable stuff to work. with, be prepared to pull your hair out if you have any. It takes a very very light touch, and a very very sharp cutting tool to succeed. But if you do succeed, you'll have a pretty cool looking pen. I've tried turning it, but I was never successful as I don't have a light touch.

It is certainly a risk vs reward situation. Definitely "advanced" material. But that is also why you don't see them everywhere and why they command a premium price

I have made a number of pens from Fordite and Len is correct, it tends to want to delaminate when turned on a lathe with cutting tools. I have had much better success, sanding the corners off of the blanks before turning them, then using 180 grit Abranet to get it very near to the shape and size before changing to finer grits, finishing with 12,000 micromesh. I always where a respirator when working with this stuff and wet sand to keep the dust to a minimum. They do make beautiful pens though.

Last piece is sold. So all of this lot are gone. If anyone wants some in the future shoot me a message and I'll let you know if I have any.

Thanks everyone!
