First Antler Pen

Well, I started turning pens about 2 months ago, and I'm up to about 50 now. Quite a lot of fun. I was cleaning out my garage when I rediscovered a shedhorn that I found on a hike a couple of years back. My son made a $1 bet with me that I couldn't make a pen with it— a surefire way to guarantee a completed project within the next 24 hours. Anyway the hardware is gold titanium, finish is CA, and the stand is a piece of firewood and the rest of the antler. Enjoy!

P.S. He got the dollar back for his help cleaning the garage.

Definitely do. Not easy to drill, wear respiratory protection. Finishes BEAUTIFULLY and gets lots of oohs and aahs.

I love this. I have the rack from my first deer a few years back and it's too small to do anything else with. This is now on the schedule.

Have you read my tutorial in the Library? Try avoiding all the porous/inner fiber as it does not shine. P.

Do you have a link? I don't think mine is big enough to have porous inner material. The trick will be finding a straight enough section.
