I spy a Drill bit I am not familiar with.

FWIW, I have two Fisch bits for drilling pen blanks. Never had a problem but I don't drill anything over five inches.
Caveat: They are in the same packaging. Don't pick up a 7mm and discover too late it was an 8mm.

Parabolic bits are great. They are flatter across the tip, with a center point, but no brad points. I bought a Fisch 7mm years ago, but don't turn many slimlines these days. I start all of my blank drillings with a centering bit. That's especially important with this really long 7mm bit. I did buy a couple shorter parabolic bits from Berea a while back that I also love.
