Has anyone heard anything about the rumor going around on FB that Dayacom is closing its doors in June? I left messages to the person that is stating this to see if he answers. He is selling kits that he has and maybe this is just a sales pitch. I did hear that they are having supply chain problems but nothing about closing. They are too large of a company.

I just got this reply back from the person and here is what he said. This is terrible news. I hope Ed sees this and can comment on this. Maybe he can reach out with his contacts to see how true this is.

John Terefenko Dayacom emailed me a warning letting me they were likely closing in June and then confirmed that they are closing in an email with a friend.

Just got a reply back from Turners Warehouse. They carry a few of their kits. They said it is true and no they will not be getting more kits in from them.

@ed4copies put them out of business with those customizable diamond knurl pens. But seriously, they made some great quality stuff. I wonder if there will be a sell-off of their inventory that we might find available without requiring a bulk order. There were a LOT of kits on the Dayacom site that I never found available for purchase online.

Were any reasons given about this sad news?
I've been waiting (and waiting) for several of my favorite kits to be restocked at US suppliers. It never happened. My suspicion is that no one reordered, so the company abandoned their production.

DAYACOM made good pens. The parts fit like velvet. And they made my very favorite fountains with a JoWo nib. It's a loss for us.

I attended the MATES event in Manassas, VA this weekend and the rumor of Dayacom closing was verified through talking to numerous vendors at the show that deal with them frequently. Most had gotten a notice from them of the shutdown. Seems they will be shuttered in 30 days or less from when they gave the notice.
