A customer of mine has this pen. It was made in London by TATEOSSIAN. It's a rollerball. The plastic threads in the cap have cracked and broken over time. It has a very sentimental value for her. I think it also has some real value too because the barrel is 92.5 silver and the cap is mother of pearl.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix. No kit inserts match diameter and threads. She does not want to send overseas because she's afraid she won't see it again.

+1 on @wade45 's request.

Likely going to need to have a new cap insert machined. You will need to know the specifics of the threads (size, pitch, number of starts) and then find someone with a metal lathe that can duplicate it.

Could you fill the cracked portion with some JB Weld or possibly thick CA and recut the threads?
Just a thought!

or UV-cure epoxy resin.

Step #1 is to determine what the existing threads on the barrel are. With luck it there will be a tap that matches those threads that you can use to re-make the threads in the cap (after building up and re-drilling.) If there's no matching tap available - which is quite likely, I can see from the photo that it's multi-lead - it will take a machinist with a metal lathe to make an insert for the cap and cut the threads. (Or re-cut both cap and barrel threads with something "close" - not going to be a popular choice as it will be obvious when the pen is in use.)

If it were me, I would be hesitant to attempt this without the experience necessary. There are reputable people that specialize in restoration here in the USA. I don't know what the value of the pen is but am often surprised by the $$$$.
Very nice pen that she has.

Can't hurt to reach out to the company. Graf-Faber has a US side repair facility, maybe Tateossian has one as well, or a contract with one.

Is it marked Tateossian? I don't see the Tateossian logo on the cap band.

To me, it looks a lot like a Gevril Morcote ($900) copy of some sort. Likely not a Gevril due to the missing logo and scaled-down hardware, but somewhat similar style.

Can you measure the diameter of the body threads, that should give some indication as to the size. Maybe with any luck it is one of the common triple lead threads we already have.

Thanks for the replies folks. Threads were a plastic insert., so I don't have a picture since the insert cracked at base of threads in cap and is probably gone.
I don't have the expertise or equipment to cut new threads, I'll see if she wants to pursue any farther.
Really hoped to find matching thread insert for cap. If I can get the pen back I will measure inside diameter of cap. I do know that the threads on barrel are very fine threads and diameter is smaller than any of the kit inserts on the market now with coarser threads
I don't know what the triple lead threads are, I've only done kit pens.
The name she gave me for the maker was her research but I noticed how the clip attaches into the as unique, as the picture shows.
I thought the pen could have real value with the 925 silver barrel and mother of pearl cap.
Thanks to all responses again, I'll try to follow up with diameter and check on company who might have someone in states to recommend.

If you can figure out the thread size and the ID of the barrel you may be able to have someone 3D print an insert for you
