Well, I made more progress tonight and ended up taking rgundersen's advise. I took the treadmill motor apart and chucked it into my metal lathe and took .027" off the motor shaft to take a 5/8" pulley. I am glad I did it this way after all. I was just a little nervous about messing the motor up and having to buy a new one. I also have the bracket cut to fit, next step is to start to mount the VS motor to the pre-1940's lathe. :D

The bracket was filled with Paduck to give it a little extra strength when I bolt it to the underside of the table. Using the treadmill frame chunk for the bracket gives me a very nice adjustment. I put the order in for the pulley tonight. It is getting very close!

Lee,

Looking good.

I've always wondered how you were able to get so much done lathes, jeeps, pens, etc), then I saw when you posted this.

Don't you ever sleep?
