Cherry lidded vessel

I got some shop time yesterday and finished this vessel. It is cherry and lacquered maple, 17" tall and 3.5" in diameter. I have about 8 hours into it. The wavy collar beneath the finial top looks like a rose engine product but it was hand carved. Photos show both sides and a top detail. Unfortunately, the photo reduction to size for this site makes the finial look wavy, but it's not.

That is one nice vessel. I especially like the finial and the hand carving work. I am gradually building up experience to try something like that.

Thank you! It took me a while to work my way from pens to larger things, I'm getting there. But pens are still my passion.
