When casting your own blanks and you know what kit you want to use them on is it a good idea to cast with the tube already in it??? Not talking like snakeskins and such, just simple acrylics. If you cast with tubes in, and it is a transparent cast will painting the tubes have a negative effect on the adhesion properties of the cast??? Or is it just a good idea to cast and drill out later??? Thanks for the reply.

My vote's for cast then drill. Not sure what it would benefit you to go through the trouble to pour with the tubes in, outside of skins and stuff that requires it.

Other than the ones you mentioned, the only other reason for casting on a tube would be if you didn't want the glue to show in a translucent blank. I have also done some double or multiple casts where I was doing segmenting with casts and in that case all but the first cast had the tube in to make sure things were oriented properly.
