I don't think I've read this tip,so since it worked so well,I thought I'd pass it on.
I used to tear off a heet of paper towel,fold it up then use it.pretty slow......I had some down-time wuth the lathe getting fixed,so I made up about 50 applicators that are now pre-done,ready to go.
I fold it in over about 8-9 times,so its about 3/4 inch or so wide,and nice and thick and long.Then tape it on the backside in 3 places.So now I just grap one,put on a coat,cut the used end off,then repeat til it's used up.It's so much nicer having it all pre-done.
To store them,I used one of those big long-reach plastic funnels,just attached with a zip-tie,so now it's like a quiver.Works slick.Seems faster.I can make those up here at home when I'm bored.
