This is my second shot at a antler decal pen. The first one was so ugly I didnt even take it to work to show the guys. The decal was ok on it....it was the shape of the antler I couldnt get to look right.
On this one I sanded it to shape Then cut grooves in the antler with a moto tool, brush painted them brown and resanded leaving the brown paint in the grooves. I'm pretty happy with it. The decal is darker than it appears the flash bleached it out a bit.

I like your results. I have used a wood burner to enhance the grain with less successful results.

From what I can see it looks good, Try taking a photo outside without the flash so we can see the decal better. I really would like to see the results, I have an idea I am working on with decals also any advice would be appreciated.

I am with MaxMan, take it outside and shoot it again. Horizontally and vertically, right in the middle so we can get an idea of the proportion of the top to the bottom.

Hmm .. no photo there.
I kinda like the look even though the flash lightened it. Looks sort of like a
ghost image in the photo.. you're almost not sure if you saw it or not, like
a face hidden in clouds or in a potato chip
