Here is a pen I finished today, made from black water buffalo horn, ebonite, and argentium silver. I made the barrel and grip from Japanese ebonite, which has a buffalo horn sleeve over the barrel, starting right behind the cap threads. I made the cap from thin argentium sheet, which is fit over an ebonite inner cap, which the cap threads are cut in to. The clip is argentium as well, and I cast it from a wax model I carved. The grip is cut for a Bock 380 nib. Ideally I would have used a rhodium plated one, but I only had a titanium nib. The pen is about 5 1/16" long when capped, 5" from nib to barrel end, and 13mm diameter at the threads, which are triple lead (12tpi).

Top shelf work John.
The combination of materials goes together well for a sophisticated look.
The plating on the nib is a minor issue, but you are probably right, the rhodium plating would have matched the silver a bit better.

The person who bought it can spend the $200 to buy a rhodium plated nib
