I made this bowl last week. Smoked it with ammonia.

wonderful work , especially the inner surface finish.

Even with the wide opening that undercut must have been challenging to turn and finish .

Wow, nice work. That looks like it was a challenging piece of wood to work with.
It took some time. I could not turn it over 300 rpm, my lath (union graduate with FU) shaked to much. Just the last part of the inside I put up the speed without problems. This is my first natural edge bowl I made. The bowl is about 11" and about 6" high. The block I was starting with was very uneven and a lot bigger then the finished bowl.

No, surprisingly, the hollowing out was relatively easy but due to the speed it was a longer job. If you finish the inside properly the sanding is easy. I do have nice tools for the hollowing. This one for the hollowing, those two for scraping and this one for the sanding. For the natural edge I used a smaller scraper for finishing.
