Bonus Puzzle - ID This Wood

Well, I'm out of guesses. Since my in laws are from Texas and this is their favorite plant, I'll make one last shot in the dark. Don't know if the vine can get that thick but I know it can grow up to 30 meters long... American Wisteria.

I've got some of that here at the house, but I don't think we have any at the farm.

Ah, darn. Thought I was onto something... You never said it was wood from a tree, just mystery wood. Are there any other woody plants native to Texas?
