This is my first time working with any stabilized wood. So far I am loving the stabilized flame box elder! I am about to finish turning my pen and am trying to decide the best way to finish it. Will CA work? Any other suggestions are appreciated! BTW - I am new to this site and am very excited to be a part of this group!!!

Welcome to IAP, Dorena !!

CA should make a good finish for the stabilized flame box elder. . I have done that.

Welcome Dorena. If you have experience with CA, it is a great finish, tough and quick. However it can have a learning curve to it for some. Lacquer and some urethanes are also good but they are not nearly as quick in curing.

Thanks, Hank! Yes - I have experience with CA. It did take me some time to figure it out, but I finally have! I just wanted to make sure it would be OK to do a CA finish on the stabilized wood! I will try to remember to post a picture when I finish - assuming it turns out good! Yes - that was a pun!
