There are 3 things special about this thread:
1) Firstly, my granddaughters (sisters) who were the recipients of the pens, which I made today.
Both of them have been doing ballet for several years and thoroughly love it. . Their ages are 10 and 11.
I surprised them by giving them these pens an hour or so ago and they were absolutely thrilled.
2) Secondly, the pen kit ... the PSI Everyday Classic ... which is a rather new offering from PSI and a very outstanding pen kit.
I believe this to be one of the top 3 kits in the PSI catalog. . It is easy to make, it has a flawless (I believe), quiet and reliable click mechanism.
The click mechanism is actually from the German Schmidt company ... it is their SKM-192 ... and PSI has scored big-time by adopting it.
Highly recommended ... I have made about six of them now, most of which I have presented in previous posts
3) Thirdly, the pen blanks ... designed and made by Jeff Powell and sold through ExoticBlanks.com.
This is one of Jeff's Rotacrylic blanks, all of which offer penmakers the opportunity, for a price, to produce a special-occasion pen rather easily.
The alarming thing, to me, is that this particular blank may have been discontinued. . I'll have to go after both Jeff and Exotic Blanks about this.
It's true that I have only two granddaughters doing ballet, but there must be other penturners with granddaughters who would enjoy such a pen.
So, without more words, let the pictures speak for themselves ....
