There are 3 things special about this thread:

1) Firstly, my granddaughters (sisters) who were the recipients of the pens, which I made today.
Both of them have been doing ballet for several years and thoroughly love it. . Their ages are 10 and 11.
I surprised them by giving them these pens an hour or so ago and they were absolutely thrilled.

2) Secondly, the pen kit ... the PSI Everyday Classic ... which is a rather new offering from PSI and a very outstanding pen kit.
I believe this to be one of the top 3 kits in the PSI catalog. . It is easy to make, it has a flawless (I believe), quiet and reliable click mechanism.
The click mechanism is actually from the German Schmidt company ... it is their SKM-192 ... and PSI has scored big-time by adopting it.
Highly recommended ... I have made about six of them now, most of which I have presented in previous posts

3) Thirdly, the pen blanks ... designed and made by Jeff Powell and sold through ExoticBlanks.com.
This is one of Jeff's Rotacrylic blanks, all of which offer penmakers the opportunity, for a price, to produce a special-occasion pen rather easily.
The alarming thing, to me, is that this particular blank may have been discontinued. . I'll have to go after both Jeff and Exotic Blanks about this.
It's true that I have only two granddaughters doing ballet, but there must be other penturners with granddaughters who would enjoy such a pen.

So, without more words, let the pictures speak for themselves ....

Mag, those are very nice looking pens, your grands will love them for as long as they have them. I do hope that you marked them, in some way to tell them apart. Because if one loses hers, she could lay claim the other's pen. Those are click pens right, where do you get them from?

I ask, because twist pens are very poor sellers in this area, everybody's asking about click pens. So, I quit making twist pens, what was the sense when they weren't selling. They were gorgeous pens, everyone remarked on how nice they looked and worked. Each of my pens have a Schmidt refill, I want them to feel what it's like to write with a quality made pen and refill.

@Lucky2

Thank you for your kind comments. . I did not mark them ... I leave it to the girls to sort out their possessions ... the two pens are "the same" but different enough that they can positively identify whose is whose ! :) . If one gets lost, I will make the loser a replacement !!

Since you asked ... I bought the kits directly from PSI about 3 weeks ago when they had an offer of $15 off a $100 purchase. . PSI has very good shipping rates to Canada so I would recommend your ordering direct if you want to get some of these kits.

As I said above, I highly recommend this kit. . It looks pretty good and it has a very positive "feel" to it. . I feel very confident that it will be durable over the long haul for anyone who wants it as a daily carry pen. . The kit comes in several metals/platings. . The one I used is solid stainless steel which I think has a regular price of $16.95 US. . That may seem like a fairly high price but don't forget that you have a German-designed click mechanism in it and that is well worth paying a little extra for . . My only criticism of this pen at this stage is that the clip is way too stiff but for many people the clip is just an ornament so it doesn't matter too much. . The barrel is 3.12" long which is a really nice length for featuring a pretty blank.

I think you would do well in selling pens made with this kit. . If you try selling them I sure would be interested in how that goes. . Please keep me posted. . The quiet, positive click mechanism should be a really big selling point. . It is really quite awesome to operate !! . Very quiet and smooth.

Giving a beautiful pen to someone special in your life who really appreciates it is the best! Nice work, gramps. 😉

@Sly Dog

Thanks a lot, Russ !! . Yes, it was a thoroughly satisfying experience, both making them and giving them today !!
