Every so often a pen comes along that you have to keep fiddling with. First the CA wouldn't look right, had to resand twice, then of course the fit was not quite right. I persevered though and salvaged this one this morning. Not my best work, but glad it's over :rolleyes:
It is naval live oak as is a previous one I posted, salvaged from the firewood pile. This stuff doesn't play well with others and needs a steady hand (not mine). It was primarily used for shipbuilding back in the day. I put up a pic of the pieces I took from firewood pile, bring a darn good saw!!

Nice pens!

As a side note though...and being 1) female 2) new to the forum...do you wanna guess how many times I squashed the bug on profile pic before I figured out it was not on my screen -.-

Not sure I should be admitting this though...

HA! That bug .gif is sure a conversation starter though! Welcome to IAP and the forums, there is a lot of help and good folks here!
