I just put another lathe into production in my shop and wanted to have a 3rd collet chuck just to make things easier. I checked with Amazon because just as often as not I can buy the same products and sometimes as much as 50% less and always with free shipping.
I found this collet set for $60 instead of the usual $90. I didn't really notice that delivery time was as long as 4 months. The collet is not an "urgent" need and is 33.3% less than buying the same collet directly from the vendor, so I let the order stand.
Today, I got a notice from Amazon that they frequently had problems with the vendor supplying the item for shipment in the time promised (in less than 4 months). All I can figure is that Amazon knows them
