Hi everyone, after my birthday on the 18 of last month I was thinking of how many years I have been wood turning, I used to say I have been turning for over 30 years then it was 35 years, well now it is 40 years since I started turning.
In those many years I had the privilege of working for world famous Dan Deluz, I always liked the way he would make a bowl collection and sell it as a collection, each bowl was a different wood.
After so many years of wood working, I have amassed a great deal of wood and a lot of it is rare. So I decided to make some miniature bowl collections, I get to use my rare woods and since they are mini bowls all under 2 inches in dia, I don't wast a lot of wood. This way people get to enjoy rare woods without spending a fortune.

Here are 3 different bowl collections, the woods are all different, woods like Koa, Kou, Aalii, Naio, Sandalwood, Hau and many more. The thing that makes these bowl collections so special is that they come with a stand that is equally as beautiful as the bowls, these 3 stands are made from curly Koa and Maua, curly Naio and Maua and then the small one is Guava and Milo.
I hope you all enjoy the pictures. Aloha.

Stunning workmanship and finish.
I believe the last time you presented us with "small bowls" I commented it would be nice to have a reference for size. I get the feeling some of these may be thimble sized or thereabouts but is hard to tell.

Your right, you did tell me about the size reference, I am sorry I forgot. Here is a picture of the small bowl collection, compared to the others that is.

Gorgeous work , as always ! Love the collection idea . Could you please identify the wood in each bowl (don`t worry , I can`t find any of those in my back yard to copy you ) . Also , you mention 3 stands , but I see 5 .
I will make a different post showing the mini bowls, There are 2 stands that have 2 levels and 1 stand that has only one level, here are a few pictures of the stands.
