Although not as long as some of you real oldies....like Smitty and co ...today is my wonderful wife and my 28th anniversary. ( Orchid in modern )
Now that the kids aren't kids anymore we try to get away for a few days to celebrate. As we are saving up for our 30th, we had to do this one 'local'...ish.
We spent a few days in the most stunning place in the UK..the Outer Hebrides, on the isles of Harris and Lewis. Absolutely beautiful!!!
Anyway, this 1300 mile round trip involves a ferry crossing and my truck is fitted with a tracker/immobiliser......( can you guess where this is going?)

Despite calling the security company a few days prior to our trip and telling them that they may get a signal that the engine was off, but the vehicle was moving, they immobilised my truck while it was on board.

Guess which fool was holding up people from getting off the ferry while he frantically called the company to unlock it.
In their defence, they did try to call me once they got the alarm, but there isn't much signal in that part of the world. Luckily, they unlocked it within minutes of me calling them otherwise there was several locals willing to lift my truck up and chuck it in the harbour...

Back home now and looking forward to a great meal out tonight.

Skip, many Happy Returns of the day to you and yours. Glad you were able to sort through the tough situation and all worked out. And I thought I was the only one who had Murphy's Law following me. Congrats again.

Congrats Skip and Happy Anniversary to you and the Mrs! Glad your day was resolved without you needing a swimming suit.

How do you plan on following that up on your 29th? Congrats.

Tom, if we don't drive each other nuts before then maybe I can stay and play in my shed and she can visit her folks......
But no doubt she will tell me what we will do, closer to the time..:biggrin:

Congrats Skip and Happy Anniversary to you and the Mrs! Glad your day was resolved without you needing a swimming suit.

John, me in a swim suit is no longer a pretty sight!! And as the waters around the north west Scottish coast rarely get above minus 20, there wouldn't be much to keep the suit on either....

Skip, congratulations and a wish for many, many more for you and Mrs. Skip.
I bet the GPS was repeating many times "Recalculate!" Sounds like a great adventure trip.
Gordon

Congrats !!!

We will have our 28th this September. I think we got married a week ago though...time sure does fly and life moves on. Enjoy every moment you have as it soon will have passed by...

Tom

Congratulations there Skip.... March 28th Dianne and I finished up 24, working on the silver anniversary now...we're celebrating a belated celebration with my son this coming Monday... he was supposed to come over the hill for Easter dinner and joint celebration last weekend, but he had company so we postponed. Second time for both of us....I've now been married this time around 3 times longer than I was married to son's mother, and Dianne has a year longer than her first.

A sincere congratulations! And it must be a relief to not be "Dead in the water" on your anniversary... :bananen_smilies046:

Murphy is alive and well and lives in my guest room.

Congratulations to you both. We are trying to decide what to do for our 54th this June.
