Really nice composition and classy looking use of materials (and, of course, quality job on the fit and finish). Great looking pen.

Mammoth ivory turns pretty well (sharp tools) needs a good pre machining inspection for cracks, it also finishes well.

mammoth ivory does have a lvely aroma when turning (burnt hair smell??)

Now that's what I was thinking about. As a matter of fact, it was that exact kit. Your laminated design would hide that black stripe at the bottom of the cap barrel.
 
That is great looking-I really like it. I am curious what did the blank look before cutting?
