This will be kinda long but I would like some advice.
I work on one side of my garage in an area about 5 feet by 10 feet. My current workbench is a homemade affair 2ft wide and 5 feet long. I have a jet mini vs mounted in the front on one end and a ryobi tabletop band saw on the side at the other end with a work area in between. The door to my side yard is at one end of the bench. I always open it when I work and run a fan.
I just ordered me a byrne modelers table saw so I can start making segmented blanks and such.
I was going to go to sears and get me a 7ft by 30 inch work bench with metal drawers so my stuff isnt always in my way. When I get it and the table saw I plan on mounting all three tools, lathe, table saw and band saw on the bench. The saws at either end and the lathe in front near one side.
For dust collection now all i have is a fan and a back door i open and I wear one of those cheapie throw away face masks. Im sure it doesnt do any good.
Is there some kinda collection system I could get that I could run hoses up under or behind each of my three power tools that hand a long hose to a collector unit that is small and light enough that when I work I could pick it up and sit it out on the side porch by the garage and pull the dust out there.
Also, that would take care of the big stuff, but I got no shot at putting an ambient dust collection system in my garage. Is there a really good mask I could get for that, or does the dust collection system handle it.
I would appreciate your input. I have allergies pretty bad sometimes and I am sure the wood makes them worse. I would like to solve my problem before too much longer. I really dont want to spend over 2 or 3 hunderd bucks on what ever I do to collect the dust.
