I am looking to make a Steampunk Pen for my wife and would like to get a watch parts blank made from someone.
She likes the small parts floating in the resin type of blank.
If someone could let me know if you could this would be great.
Pen Blank Minimum Size: 3/4" x 3/4" x 2-1/4"L
I would think the tube would need to be cast integral to the blank (I'm just guessing here)

Depending on which component set you are planning to use, Blankwerx.com is the place to go. Jason does an incredible job making his blanks and has a variety of pre-tubed sizes available. He's the only guy I by watch part blanks from these days.

@TonyL: not cheap..for these prices, i would want the hands to be included watch part blanks.
@Bayouusaf aka Blankwerks.com is the GOAT

Thanks for the recommendations.
I have visited Blankwerks and their work is exceptional. All their blanks are designed around a few specific kits. None of which are designed for the steampump steampunk pen kit and there are no dimensions on any of the blank sets that would allow me to compare for compatibility to the kit I am looking to build.

You would basically want a custom made blank so you would have to talk with him to get the details right. The big factor when doing those type blanks is the kit has to have enough meat or room on the tube to be able to encase the components. When adding hands the blank has to be even larger or you have to be careful to shape more outward to allow for this. Also the material under the parts that attaches to the tube needs to be considered too. Material like carbon fiber has some heft to it as opposed say decal material. Even the abalone material he uses has a fair amount of heft to it. Another factor is many watch parts outside of the brass gears adds heft. One last factor to consider is the background material drowning out the components because of the glitz and glitter of the material such as some abalone. You lose the look of the watch parts. Matching the dial to the background plays a part. I guess my point is it will take some discussing as to what looks good and what will work. He will be able to explain this. But at least you have an idea what he will discuss with you. I should say one last thing too is if you are supplying the dial, if it is on a nonwindup watch then it has no gears to use and he would have to supply the parts. Good luck and be sure to show us the results. Alot goes into makeing those type blanks and thus the $$$.
