Is there a way for me to blacken my CA glue?

I tried the IC2000 CA today, which is a rubberized black CA, but it was kind of gooey.

So I'm open to suggestions? Mix it with black paint? Mix it with food coloring?

Okay, got the Black Mixol.

I mixed up enough epoxy for 2 blanks. I probably used 2 or 3 drops of Mixol. Does that sound right? It was certainly nice and black!!!

Incidentally, the 5 minute epoxy seemed dry after 30 minutes, but when I used the barrel trimmer, it pushed one of the tubes out. I'm thinking the Mixol slows down the cure.

Well, I turned my first pen which used the black epoxy on brass tubes...

I'm not real happy with the results... you can see several spots in this picture where the brass shows thru the blank. So I need a new plan...

I think I'll order some brass black solution...

How about painting the tube black and using black epoxy.

I paint the inside of my blank AND color the epoxy. I use a drop or two of Testor's enamel paint to color the epoxy, but not necessarily the same color as the paint used inside the blank.
