My clothes dryer heats up as soon as turn the timer and before I push start. I think the element is grounded and needs to be replaced. Could the timer be the issue instead or also? The timer works as far as I can tell.
I don't work with any device that puts out 220 volts - it's just too dangerous!
With all the modern electronics, it could be anything. A very tiny switch on our old dryer went, and we'd have had to replace the entire circuit board - so it's rarely something cheap and simple!I usually fix things, but i just bought a new dryer - I don't mess around with 220v
Stopped by the shop for the part and after explaining the problem to the guy he just told me to check the element for broken wires or grounding before buying one.
It is nice to have a shop that is not just looking to sell something but will try to help a customer even if it doesn't result in a sale.
