Craig I'm sorry to hear about loosing such a friend and companion, I know everyone has heard about the Rainbow bridge, but there's more to it.
Upon passing this earthly shell an old man met his faithful companion on the bridge then they strolled of down a old dusty road until the man spotted this great, grand and glorious place with Huge pearl colored gates and right inside was a solid gold fountain.
It was about then the old fellow realized that he and his dog had traveled a good distance and he knew he sure was thirsty and supposed his dog was as well. He walked up to this fine gate with the beautifully paved walkway and fountain inside, the fellow sitting at the desk said, welcome we've been expecting you. you look tired and thirsty friend won't you come in and join us, The old man started in the gate with his buddy following him, but the man at the gate said I'm sorry but there's no dogs allowed in here.
The old fellow looked shocked and said he's more than a dog, he's my friend, are you sure he can't come in, the gatekeeper just shook his head.
Well the old fellow said come on pardner we'll just keep a walking a while longer, They hadn't gone far, when they came up to this old farm gate and a rutted out road leading down to a well, the old man asked this farmer if he could have some water for him and his friend, the farmer said certainly.
The old fellow proceeded to tell him about the other place how heavenly it looked but how could it be heaven if they don't allow dogs in. Then a light came on above the farmer who said that was just Paradise friend, you and your dog are welcome here in Heaven, now go and drink your fill.
I don't remember where or when I heard this story, but for my money it can't be heaven with out dogs.
