If that's resin, acetone may make things worse. If wood, rock the acetone!

If possible, I would put the blank back on the lathe and either turn the excess off with a skew or sand it back -- then re-apply CA.

Wow you cut the skin off your finger to save the blank, that is dedication to the craft. 
I was thinking more about the hand than the blank. :wink:

I have never has acetone work that well to remove glued fingers.
Try using a 'sharp' (new blade) craft knife. You can 'gently' run the knife at the skin line release the blank with minimal damage to finger. Been there a fews times.

Soaking items involving skin in warm water is the best remover from the skin. Water swells the skin and lets the ca get loose --

I use CA remover that I get at Woodcraft. Works great, not as severe as acetone.

Head and shoulders. When I get too much ca on my fingers I just wash my hair a little longer.
I mix acetone and mineral oil 50/50 use the combo to remove excess on skin, works good for me and not as harsh as straight acetone
