I have been busy with life and stuff and finally got back to my lathe. I bought two stripped maple blanks that were kiln dried since my last "wet" blank cracked horribly. Anyway I made these two bowls for my 6th and 7th bowls. Starting to get the hang of it.

Those look beautiful. I like the detail on the first and love the shape of the second. I'd say you are more than getting the hang of it!

definitely! great job on both. next time you rough turn a wet blank, soak it in denatured alcohol for 12 hours. it should dry enough to finish turning it in about 2-3 weeks. it has worked well for me in the past.
