Hi All,

A while ago i made mention that my father makes Priests.
Had quite a few ask what they were.
So i had him send me some pics of his latest creations!

Made from Rhodesian Teak, Imbuia and Cherry.
On a few of them the smaller top part is made from Rhodesian Teak as it is a very hard, dense wood.
Finish is CA, the one thing that i have been able to tell my father how to do!!
Hardware is all turned on a metal lathe and is made from brass and copper.
The centre shaft is a hollow stainless steel shaft filled with lead shot for added weight.
He sells them in a few Fly Fishing stores around South Africa.

Hope you enjoy them!

Andrew

I'm thinking they are more commonly known as a Bonker! One hit to the top of the fishes head and they are off to lalaland!

Priests are used by fisherman to humanely put the fish out of it's misery.
Instead of letting them suffocate, a sharp bash to the head is all it takes.

Mack got it right, never heard of them as bankers though...

They are around 210mm to 250mm, so just short of a foot.

Whatever they are called, they are well done. I like.
Do not let my banker see the bonkers. He is bad enough bare handed.
