Hey Guys. Wanted to share a peppermill I made out of Redwood Burl. It's a gift for my Mother-In-Law's birthday. Crush-Grind mechanism and the malachite cabochon are from CUSA. Finish is CA and it absolutely took forever! Comments and questions welcomed. Thanks for looking!

nice looking mill..!!..love the shine and the extral metal (aluminum..??) really sets if off..


Yes it is aluminum. Three basic reasons why I use it...

1) Functionally it is extremely helpful in solidifying the top and preventing additional play.

2) Easy to work with to make it uniform with the wood

3) Can dress it up to really shine or give it a matte brushed look.

VERY nice! I like that a lot. Love the aluminum band, that's sharp. I like my MIL too but I don't know if I like her that much.
