Koa Letter Opener

I pick up these letter opener and also keychain kits for the random scrap pieces of wood or to recover from "oops" moments in the many times I screw up pens. This is a piece of Hawaiian Koa that when looking at it seemed to say "I'd like to be a letter opener," plus I really didn't have much shop time this weekend (isn't it strange how life gets in the way of shop time?) I finished it with a friction polish, thinking it would later add some personalization from the oils from the user's hand - assuming someone actually uses it.

Nice job. I have made several letter openers and key chains also. Mine usually come from the pens that have the oops happen to one of the 2 blanks that I may be turning for a pen.
