I found this at work. It seems to be a seed cone from some kind of evergreen. Dad soaked it with thin CA as soon as I showed it to him, and we worked on another one I brought, cutting it into a blank, then trying to turn it down into a pen, as it looked stunning. It promptly fell apart miserably. This one was gonna go to waste, I spotted some confetti lamps on a table in Dad's workshop, and we turned it into an oil lamp.

Sadly, I have no before pics. As soon as the one we left untouched had an overnight in the basement, it started to open up. Kinda quit being a usable material at that point. Haven't found any more at work either, sadly. Looks like squirrels nail 'em the second they hit the ground. They comr from some kind of evergreen tree. A manager thought it may be from a Hemlock.
