I have not had alot of turning time lately but after I cut the weeds on Saturday, decided it was time. This is only my second attempt at a hollow form and I can see these getting as addicting as pens. I think it is Maple Burl, I bought some unknown burl out of a bin at Woodcraft a couple of years ago. It is about 3" across. The finish is rattle can and I will sand if off and try again. It has a couple of runs that I did not see at first.

I always appreciate your tips and suggestions. A smaller hollowing tool is a must. I have the big Sorby swan neck one and the opening is the smallest I could make.

Cant see the runs from here. Looks great. I have been wanting to do another HF but never find the time. That is why i moved to pens, i can do them in stages.
