I made my first shaving brush handle. It looked promising on the lathe but after epoxying the brush I realized several errors. I used the hooded live center instead of a conventional live center. This error meant I did not round off the base of the brush nearly enough. I forgot that the bristle end of the brush is light and hangs straight if hung bristle end up which will never do. Why do I do these things especially like experiment with an expensive silver tip brush and expensive blank? So goes the story of my life. I may just have to give it to someone I don't like along with a razor with a rusty blade.

It is SO frustrating to have to learn things, when you just wanted to make something nice. I can't even remember how many times I have done that.:frown:

Think how nice the next one will be...:)

don't see why you can't hang it bristle end up. OR make a stand that catches it a bit higher up on the body. you could grind out the one you have or go custom. something like this one i made
