Just messing around...
I have two different size pen mill heads..
one takes 3/16" shank, the other 1/4" shank.
So, the idea (read boredom) was to make a pilot with one head,
and two shanks. They are interchangeable. The brass bushing mates the smaller shank into a counterbore in the end of the pilot. The threads are
tapped way deep into the pilot, below the counterbore.
Pretty sure I have not seen this crazy idea before.

Hi Tom, long time since we talked. I sure enjoyed that visit we had!
A and B sounds about right.:)
I do like to try new things, keeps me out of trouble (usually).

Thanks everyone for the comments!

Hank, I wouldn't count on it, it was a fair bit of time.. probably not
cost effective. :)
But it was a challenge to figure out, which was what I was really after!

John, my alzheimers must have kicked in because I read pen mill but thought mandrel. I think I'm back in my right mind now(I don't know if that's a good thing or not).
Any time you're down this way, stop by, you're always welcome here.
