As you can see I'm still struggling with photography. This shot was taken outside in full auto settings, handheld. Maybe when things slow down a little I can learn to photograph these guys.
Anyhow, this is a ten dollar bill from 1862. Apparently Lincoln was on the ten back then. The Battle of Richmond, KY was fought in August 1862. The lower part of the pen is from a "Witness Tree", a Holly Tree that was in the yard of a Civil War farm house. The Holly is both old enough and was in the right place to have watched that battle. The Battle Of Richmond Association has four of these pens on their gift shop/museum.
