Maybe masterpiece is a bit of a stretch, but I do think this is one of my best. I took what I learned on the last one and improved it. On this one I used Cobalt acrylic paint. Ground as much surface off the tubes as I could, painted tubes and painted the inside of the blank and went to town turning it. I LOVE how it turned out.

Allen, you have been one crazy, pen-turning guy today. How many is that in the past 2 hours? Five?

That's one sweet pen. I agree with Haynie on the need for a center band, but if you didn't have the right material, it was better to not use a CB at all.

I think I'd like to try making a blank like and try some Day-Glow Orange on the tube. Might be a good seller to hunters and DOT road crews.

I had the same idea. That orange and white suspended one Brooks was selling will likely get that treatment. I ALMOST did that here, but the dark blue seemed like a better idea.

Ya did good Allan! I think you made the right choice with the blue paint over day-glow orange :bulgy-eyes:

Save that one for a cartridge pen:wink:

Well, now I need one of those blanks for a cartridge pen. Gee, thanks! I am wondering about the day-glo orange in that suspended orange and white one I got. Maybe make the orange brighter?
