Has anyone cast an unpainted, uncoated polished brass tube in PR? Will the brass darken or discolor? Got an idea and wanted to see if anyone else had tried it before I wasted PR.

I've done a few polished brass tubes (both plain and electroplated with gold and silver) in PR and the brass stays nice and shiny . The biggest problem you will have is that the PR will want to pull away from the tubes . The polished tubes don't give the PR a surface to bite into . You have to keep the heat down to prevent shrinkage of the PR . Use the minimum amount of MEKP and don't post cure the blanks . It might take a couple of days for the PR to fully cure but I've had 0 failures with this method .
Also be very careful pressing the kit parts , the tubes can very easily be broken loose and pushed out of the blank .
