I got motivated to do a zeeb pen so I cut a few blanks and got turning. My standard regimen MM-12K, Tung oil, Triple Buff, 3 pretty heavy coats of CA/BLO, Double buff, Ren Wax. The only thing I did differently was to put a coat of Minwax Sanding Sealer on after the 150 grit and then resand.

The darn thing has a good bit of chatoyancy which came as a surprise to me. Can't really tell in the PIX because they are static.

Nice job on the cigar, Bree. Lots of woods take on more character when cut on a bias.
The more the angle the more difficult to turn....end grain, you know. Your pen looks great as does the finish and the pics.
Do a good turn daily!
