Hello!

I am wondering if anyone has found a kit, modified a kit, or otherwise been able to get a Zebra F301 refill into a wooden turned pen. I haven't been able to find anything I like as much as those F301 fine point blue pens but can't find a kit that takes them.

Thanks in advance for any tips or tricks!

Mike

Sorry...it is the Schmidt P900 I use with my kits
Thanks, I'll give that a try! I write teeny tiny in my work notebooks so I need an extremely fine point. And has to be ballpoint, not liquid ink or it bleeds too much for the thin pages. I know I know, pretty particular. :)

I cannot remember what the thread pitches were as I made this about five years ago.

I had a post about this a while back.

Using a Cigar-style kit, you can simply insert a spacer to make up the difference in length between the normal ball-point refill and the F-301 refill. Though the refill for the Cigar kit looks like it should "engage" with a mechanism, in practice the transmission just contacts the top of the refill.

I also posted a description of my process for doing a slimline version. My original customer decided after I made the Cigar pen that he wanted to go back to a slimmer pen, so he ordered another pen. In short:
  1. Drill out about 1/2" of the transmission
  2. Install the transmission into the upper barrel instead of the lower barrel, and press until only about 1/2" shows.
  3. Shorten the pen refill to get the exact protrusion you're looking for.
The full process is in the thread a linked to above.

Hi J_B. Just received my P900 refills. That writes EXACTLY like I have been looking for! Thank you!!!!

Am I interpreting the internet correctly that these will fit any of the "parker style" kits?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
