Have a bunch of YT videos saved and look at them for great information. One I follow is Mike Peace. Noted turner and instructor, BTW. He has a good video on the spindle gouge with a different grind than the factory grind. Decided to sacrifice a cheap harbor Freight spindle gouge. Cut swept wings and contoured the bevel. Used in in an end grain hollow form I'm playing with. Worked like a charm. I also learned to control the cut with the handle and not to try to control the end of the tool. Might try to turn a wood blank and see how it works. Will report back. I highly recommend Mike's YT channel.

I watch many different wood turners. Mike Peace is one, as well as Tomislav Tomasic (follow), Richard Raffan, Kent Weakly (Turn a Wood Bowl) (Follow), Sam Angelo (Wyomingwoodturner) and a few others. My personal opinion is Mike Peace is lower on my watch list only because I feel his videos are not as top notch videography wise as the others. Dont get me wrong, that doesnt indicate his content is lacking.
Check some of others I have listed.

I really enjoy Mike Peace's video's. I agree, often not super tight videography, but he gets his message across - plus he doesn't get crazy with expensive tooling or special tricks - more an everyman turner - and I am good with that.

mortalis, I have subscribed to all of those plus a bunch of others. I agree with NJturner, too. One can never have too many resources.
When I was in grad school, it was said: Many sources is research. One source is plagiarism.
