Hi, I just learned that my Mom had a stroke on Fri, after waking up from sleep with dizziness and complaining about her speech. My sister took her to the hospital and she has been there ever since. From my conversation with my sisters they told me that she hasn't had that much physical damages, but tomorrow they will run some more tests to find out what if any more damages were caused by this stroke. she just turned 80 years old in last Dec. and i was talking and joking with her on Thurs. she was laughing and was Joly. Well, I am living tomorrow to go to Albuquerque NM to be with her and help out. she is a type of person that she believes in prayers and she always sends them our ways. Your prayers would greatly appreciated.

Have mercy, O loving God,
upon all who have suffered a stroke.
Remove the sudden fear that befalls them.
Endow them with courage in the struggle
to recover what has been lost.
Grant them strength and hope
to envision new days ahead
and a spirit of faith
to take the risk of living fully
once again.
Amen.

Will keep you all in our prayers - a speedy and complete recovery for your mom, safe travel for you to your family and for all the strength to get through these times with the comfort of your loved ones nearby. Keep us posted as you can.

Linda

May God hold you and your family close to His breast throughout your troubling times and bring you all through to good times once more. God speed and have a good safe trip. Keep us informed when possible, please.

Phil,
Hope that your travel is safe and easy. I also hope that your Mother's stroke does not leave her too debilitated. Healing energy will be sent in your direction.

Thank you all for your warm heartfelt wishes, although it's inevitable for everyone, but receiving the news is not that easy to swallow. She is very active lady she goes to the jim three times a week and walks when the weather admits and pretty active, however I think the high blood pressure is not a joking matter and she has had some trouble regulating that recently. I don't know all the details yet, but wanted to thank each and everyone for praying for her. I try to post updates if I can get to a comp. since I don't have a laptop to carry with me and I have to borrow my sisters.

I like to ask those of you who may have trouble with high blood pressure, that please be mindful of it and try to take the meds as prescribed since the darn disease will not joke when it has to do its damage.

From someone who needed prayers I send my prays for your mother. May the Lord God bless her and keep her in His never tiring arms. In Jesus name I pray. AMEN

Hi, every one, I thought I stop by and give a quick update. Well she had an Ischematic acute stroke which is different form the ordinary ones that is caused by heart trouibole or a blood clot in the body. Thios typw of stroke is caused by blood clots forming in the brain and she had four of them in the frontal lobe which one of them caused this problem and effected the lobe which effects your mood and behavior. So she dodged the big one this time ,but she has irradical behavior from time to time or she says things that are irrelevant and may not make sense. She is at home now and little upset that she doesn't have the energy to go to the jim for her excercise. My family appreciates for everyone who sent prayers our way and they have worked and she got through this one.
Sorry, if you find some spelling errors here since I am working on an old laptop and this cursors is acting up.
Thanks again for everyone who prayed for her.

Prayers sent and will do so again every time you and your family cross my mind. As in several times a day. I am in the same situation just different ailments with my parents. My dad has begin to have heart problems and my mother had cancer, then most recently spent three days in the hospital with pneumonia. The treatment for cancer has really kicked her butt. Family comes first, and it has really been hard for me to not visit the group as much as I used to. So I feel for you in every way. You Mom will need your comfort right now. In ways she will never be able to express. It is a little like she becomes the child and you become the source of safety.

Phillip, You are in my thoughts and prayers..As a physician who works with brain injury patients..the brain has amazing ways of recovering function..even at age 80. I'll PM with some info. Best Regards, Doc

Thank you all again. Mom is on new Meds now that helped to bring down the blood pressure, so we had a better day today, with the help of God and prayers she should be on her way to good recovery. Fortunately she did not sustain that much physical damage, and we are just helping her out to get her energy back and may be regain her independance. the entire family thanks everyone for the prayer and wishes.
