I had hoped to not post this till after the bash, but posting it will get a little off my chest.

First the good - I hope that the bash has been fun for all. It's been a welcomed relief just poking in now and then, putting in some fun posts, and seeing all the great pens. I would have loved to enter a contest or two, but it just wasn't in the cards.

Now the prayer requests. My wife's diabetes has done nasty things to her eyes. 3 surgeries and multiple shots into her eyes, and life is still rough. The right eye was the most affected and the doc thinks that eye will get very little to no vision due to the retina. The left eye has some vision but it not great... Some days are better than others and this week has been worse and the doctor can't tell us why because things appear to be about the same from "his view in". Learning to deal with the partial blindness and a chance for complete blindness has the family in a variety of emotions, none of them good. In mid 40s we feel way too young to be dealing with this kind of life altering thing. Prayers would be appreciated for healing - both physical (hopefully with some vision return) and mental (learning to cope and not being angry/depresses).

On top of that, this weekend we found out my dad needs valve repair surgery. Luckily it's not an emergency one, but it adds to my stress level.

It's been rough. Seeing the one I love in so much pain isn't easy, and not being able to "fix it" is tough too.

I'm rambling a bit, so... Sorry for being a bit of a downer but thanks for letting me talk it out a bit and thanks for any prayers you can send us.

Dean; we'll pray for your wife that she will have her vison return and that she will be better able to deal with things until then. We'll also pray for you and the rest of your family for strength during this time. And we'll be praying for your dad as well. I know it's not easy watching some one you love hurt and you feel as though there is nothing you can do, but you can hold them for as long as nessary. Keep us up to date as you can

Dean, Your request is being answered. Sending prayers for your family and extra ones for you. Ramble here anytime.....we will all listen and those of us that can, will be there for you. Keep us informed and we will keep praying till everything is better.

May the Lord watch over you all.

Dean,
Praying for your wife, you and your family.
Ramble here any time, we listen.
Even though most of us have not met you, you are among trusted friends.
Keep us posted.
Tom

You and your wife & whole family are in our prayers.
Thanks for sharing so we can support you in this difficult time.

Dean our prayers are with you and your family. Don't worry about bringing any one down, unfortunately we don't get to decide when things go bad, or good for that matter. Don't hold the stress in you know you have friends here that are more than happy to listen.

Mike

Dean, prayers for your wife, you and the family have been sent and will continue. I understand part of this very well. My diabetes has affected my eyes through the years and are now a lot more noticeable.

Your understanding and support will be her strength and God will decide what the answer is. You and yours are deffinately on the prayer list.

Ray

Having a place that is not biased, that you can vent to is wonderful thing. I'm sure I can speak for the majority when I say, let it flow Buddy, thats what we are here for.

Prayers for you and yours.
