Trying to keep things interesting with my serpentine blanks. The first is a Walnut blank with Mahogany and Maple veneer.

The second is a Walnut blank with double veneer of Mahogany and Maple.

Please tell me if you like or don't like. You wont hurt my feelings. Which do you prefer?

Thanks

I love them both. If you forced me to choose one, I'd choose the double veneer one.

Gee, then you can send me the other one that you won't use:biggrin:

I like the single veneers better than the one with two veneers together.
I like the light and dark of the first one.

Please send some blanks so it is easier to evaluate!

Hi Terry:

I like a clean separation of colors (if that is clear). For me, the Mahogany is too close in color to the Walnut to be right beside it for a thin cut. Maybe a walnut blank, with maple/mahogany/maple veneer. Or a thicker veneer for Bi/Tri laminated. The thin cuts are fine for a single color IMO.

However, they all still are mighty impressive!

Both are very good. Was that a CA finish? If so I do see some finish lines unless it was the lighting. Either way they look interesting.

They are beautiful blanks and very well done.

I would agree that maybe a little 'color' (red, blue, green) would set them off a little more.
PERSONALLY.....You can get to many "lines" going in a blank. I prefer them with less lines but with 'bigger curvers'........if that makes any sense.

I think you're on to something (again), Terry. As they are, I prefer #1. However, if you can manage the extra veneer thickness, it might be cool to try the same (dark) blank with a mahogany, maple, mahogany (3 layers) stripe.
Best,
